Use this plan when the artwork is taller than it is wide: covers, signs, labels, narrow posters, and vertical character crops that need a stable portrait grid.
Workflow order
Follow these steps before exporting so the grid stays practical to copy by hand.
- Use the book cover canvas before deciding whether to crop the image.
- Place the strongest title shape or face in the upper two-thirds.
- Keep margins simple so the cover reads at small size.
- Use 32x48 for most tall art before trying custom dimensions.

- Turn thin text into chunkier title blocks.
- Keep vertical outlines continuous so the cover does not wobble by row.
- Use a simple background if the subject has many small details.
